Challenge
Crestview Hills Town wanted a community-oriented platform where residents and visitors could easily:
Explore shops across different categories.
Stay updated on local events.
Book events online and sync them with Google Calendar.
The challenge was to create a website that not only served as a business directory but also as a central hub for community engagement.
Solution
We designed and developed a custom WordPress-based website with the following features:
Shop Directory: Implemented a categorized listing of shops using custom taxonomy filters, ensuring users can quickly find shops by category.
Event Management System: Built using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), allowing the admin to easily add event details (name, date, associated shop, and description).
Event Booking & Calendar Integration: Added a booking system where users can register for events and add them directly to Google Calendar.
Result
The new platform provided:
A centralized, user-friendly hub for exploring shops and events.
Increased visibility for local businesses through category-based shop listings.
Improved community participation with streamlined event booking and reminders.
